HKUST WebMail cannot search messages by email address after migrated to Exchange, is there any solution?

No. After migrated to Exchange, user can no longer search email messages by user's email address using the HKUST WebMail interface. However, you can still search for messages user's full name, or part of the name using the HKUST WebMail interface.

It is the limitation of IMAP service in Exchange that only user's name is searchable. For better user's experience in Exchange, it is suggested to use Outlook Web App or Microsoft Outlook, in which you can perform email search either by email address or user name.
