I cannot find eduroam in-room at student halls, but I can find eduroam in other places, why?

In order to improving the Wi-Fi network in student halls, we are planning to keep the 5GHz eduroam Wi-Fi network only in-room Wi-Fi at all student halls in coming fall semester.

There may be very few device that support 2.4GHz Wi-Fi only (which cannot find eduroam in the room), you can manual configure 2.4GHz hidden Wi-Fi "eduroam-legacy" in below:

Configure eduroam-legacy 

Windows – Follow Manual Setup in below URL; In Step 2, type “eduroam-legacy” in Network Name field, check "Connect even if the network is not broadcasting"

Android – Click “Add Wi-Fi network” in Step 2a: Configure Wireless Network Properties. Type “eduroam-legacy” in SSID or Network Name field.

iPhone – Follow Connect to a hidden Wi-Fi network in below url; In Step 2, type “eduroam-legacy” in Name field. In Step 3, choose "WPA2 Enterprise".
