| I cannot send emails at ResNet, why? |
| Article Number: 202 | Rating: Unrated | Last Updated: Fri, Jan 25, 2013 at 3:58 PM |
| To protect our ResNet users for better security, authentication is required when sending out email through the SMTP server "smtp.ust.hk" at ResNet. This arrangement is just similar to your current email access at home through a broadband ISP service. To use the Authenticated SMTP Server, please configure your email client to use smtp.ust.hk port 587. After enabling the required settings in your email client, you will be prompted for your ITSC Network Account / password for the first email sent within the same session. Alternatively, you may use the HKUST WebMail service. |
