Will all previously configured ".forwards" be automatically migrated to the Exchange server?

Yes, but with some limitation:

Forwarding address will forward a copy of all new email to the designated address while leaving a copy of the email in your Inbox.
User has just one forwarding email address.

For forwarding to multiple addresses or delete the message in your Inbox automatically (the message will stay in the Deleted Items folder), you will need to set up your own email rules using OWA or Outlook. Please also note that "redirecting permanently without leaving a copy of forwarded email in Inbox" is not supported.
